Suffolk Start Up Business Planning
This workshop is one of the elective options on the Suffolk Start Up Programme for clients located in either East, West, Mid Suffolk or Babergh council areas only.
Hosted by MENTA’s experienced trainers via Zoom, live session will cover the essential skills you need to develop and the key points to consider when planning to start or grow your business. The Business Planning skills training will be split into the following sessions:
- How to undertake Market Research
- Legal considerations, such as working from home and insurance. The session will also discuss the difference between the main business types: Limited / Sole Trader / Partnership / CIC
- Business Planning – The importance of developing a robust business plan
- Presenting your numbers – financial projections
- HR considerations
Your trainer will be happy to field your questions “on air” or in the live chat room and there will be breaks during the session for you to boil the kettle!
Please note that for the best experience we recommend a laptop or tablet.

1) Be over 16 years of age
2) Be based in East, West, Mid Suffolk or Babergh council areas
3) Not started your business/become self-employment or started your business/become self-employed within the last 12 months before the date of enrolment.
